>Johannes Sundae?
>
As today is Divine Mercy Sunday,
and Pope John Paul II is becoming Blessed Pope John Paul II,
we made some celebratory sundaes, inspired by Catholic Icing!
A pretty good day, all around.
My go-to dress for when I… ahem…
wake up 10 minutes before it’s time to leave for Mass.
I added a sparkly headband. AND wedges.
Pretty much all the “creativity” I had time for.

>Chambray with Black Stripes?

Or Chambray with White Stripes?
dress: Guess, shirt: gift, bag: Deux Lux, shoes: Target, shades: Target
I am so ready for break!
My gigantic purse is not really a fashion statement, so much as a necessity-
I have 2 binders and a 300 page book in there…
plus an unpictured textbook bag that remains in my backseat for easy access.
This commuting nonsense is getting old.
Only 3 more papers and 3 more tests to go and I will be free at last!
Well, for my brick and mortar classes. My hybrid class still has something like 8 more quizzes and 2 more tests, but they’re “learning opportunities”.
I would never whine about a learning opportunity.
In other news:
It is a beautiful, albeit windy day today,
so I am wearing one of my favorite summer dresses,
with PANTALOONS.
There’s no reason to let the wind win forever, right?

>50 Days of Egbert
>

I was planning to introduce Egbert to the world on Easter Sunday.
He was shy, unfortunately.
He was shy, unfortunately.
However, as there are 50 days of Easter, I think it is high time I introduce you all.
Egbert was born last week, when I set the kitchen timer and proceeded to leave the house, returning a mere 15 minutes after the timer kindly requested… Oops.
Egbert will keep you all company today, as Chloe would truly like to be a part of the action, but is slightly caught up in finals projects. Ask him to play the accordion for you- you won’t be disappointed, I promise.
Oh, and for those of you wondering how to not emulate me, here is a lovely link properly hard-boiling eggs.
(For the record, I did it correctly this morning, I promise I’m not a total space cadet)

>Buttoned Up

Shirt: Ralph Lauren
Tank: Express
Skirt: Tommy Hilfiger
Shoes: Wanted
I got out of work early, today. More time to run errands? Check.
It’s almost like all of my wildest dreams are coming true, because errand running would make for a pretty wild dream, if you think about it… Inception by the Productivity Police?
The buttons on my shirt are the best detail, but they were tricky to capture.
They prefer anonymity, but I choose to exploit them in a dream within a dream.

>Oxford Comma, 4.0
>
Oxfords are rather scholarly (hello, Oxford), last time I checked,
and as I am trying my best to finish strong, I am taking no chances.
Even my shoes will be scholarly.
This is apparently an example of cute outfits that don’t photograph well.
I received a few really nice compliments on campus,
but am not super pleased with the photographic proof of wear.
Such is life.

Tuesday is my Monday, so here is some virtual espresso, as my contribution to sanity.

It’s no secret that college requires a lot of carrying things.
Toward the end of the semester, fashionable college book bags start to look like this:

I stick to oversized purses and simply carrying extra books,
because I live off-campus and generally leave things in my car that I won’t need right away.
How do you cart your stuff around?

>Oatmeal Easter Cookies
>
I made these in a muffin tin for the perfect crunchy edge,
used almonds instead of pecans,
85% cocoa dark chocolate instead of bittersweet,
and left out the dried sour cherries because it would have required waiting too long.
Next time, I will make sure to have cherries on hand;
the dark chocolate was lovely, but I think the fruit would have been extra lovely.
Try these with coffee! Quickly!
Happy Easter! Quickly!
Yes, I’m yelling!
With joy!
